There are a number of children who were buried in the cemetery of St. George’s, and Elizabeth was not the youngest, though the memorial stone to two little sisters who never got to meet each other testifies of the hardships of life at that time. They were the 3rd and 4th born children of Rev. William Fenner and his wife Cecile. Their father was buried beside them the same year as he succumbed to diphtheria the same year that Alice died, possibly of the same disease. His wife and 3 surviving children returned to France at that time.
