Home Groups at St. George's

Home Groups are a way to help deepen our relationships: with God, his word, and each other.  In St George's we want to see home groups creating LIFE:

  • Love - for God, for each other, for our communities
  • Instruction - learning more of God's word, through study and sharing together
  • Fellowship - with each other, that grows deep to both celebrate and support each other
  • External Service - to those in our neighbourhoods, communities or work situations.

Who?

We particularly want to encourage regular attenders of St. George’s to be part of a Home Group, and to see it as a part of how we grow as a church: in knowing God, in supporting one another and in reaching our communities.

We also believe that Home Groups can provide a relaxed and open environment for non-church goers to be introduced to the love of Jesus Christ.  Members of Home Groups are encouraged to invite their friends to share in either one-off events or more regularly.

Why?

We know that home groups can be key in growing our own faith and in building the church.  As we grow with one another, we can grow in our relationship with God, and with those around us, through acts of service.  Acts 2:44-47 reminds how the first followers of Jesus regularly met together, sharing not only God's word, but their lives together.

Where?

Currently we have Home Groups in the following residential areas of Tunis: Les Berges du Lac, El Menzah 9B, Ennasr , La Marsa, L’Aouina and Gammarth.  Our aim is to have Home Groups in as many areas as possible so that groups are established within the communities where people live.

What next?

If you would like to know more, or to find out how to join a home group, please contact the church office, who will be put you in touch either with one of the pastoral staff of the church, or with your nearest home group leader.
